Dr. Tikanath Sharma is a seasoned Senior Consultant Anesthesiologist & Intensivist with extensive experience spanning over three decades. His expertise lies in providing anesthesia and critical care services across a wide range of medical disciplines. Notably, Dr. Sharma has been instrumental in establishing and managing Intensive Care Units (ICUs) in several prominent hospitals, including Paramount Hospital, Anandalok Hospital, and Dr. Malay’s Hospital & Neurosciences Centre.
With a strong foundation in both academic excellence and practical experience, Dr. Sharma's proficiency encompasses the administration of anesthesia for diverse patient demographics, from neonates to geriatric populations. He has a remarkable track record of supervising and executing approximately 400 cases per month, ensuring optimal patient care and safety.
Dr. Sharma's comprehensive skill set extends beyond anesthesia administration to encompass the supervision of ICU procedures such as hemodynamic monitoring, tracheostomy, and chest drainage. He plays a pivotal role in educating operating theatre (OT) and ICU staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards of care.
Currently serving as the Group Head at Medica North Bengal Clinic and Dr.Malay’s Hospital & Neurosciences Centre, Dr. Tikanath Sharma oversees a team of 4-5 consultant Anesthesiologists, demonstrating exceptional leadership and managerial acumen. His primary focus lies in managing the 14-bedded Neurosurgical ICU at Dr. Malay’s Hospital & Neurosciences Centre, where he upholds the highest standards of patient care and clinical excellence.
Despite his extensive contributions to the field, Dr. Sharma remains dedicated to continuous professional development, actively engaging in memberships with esteemed professional societies and staying abreast of the latest advancements in anesthesiology and critical care medicine.
